Fukuoka Flower Show 2027 Garden Competition –Call for Entries

We are calling for participants in the garden contest at the Fukuoka Flower Show 2027, which will be held in April 2027. This contest is an international-level garden competition judged according to entry requirements and criteria based on the world-renowned Chelsea Flower Show. Five entries selected through a document screening will be exhibited in a special area within the venue, and awards will be given based on onsite judging. After the exhibition ends, the works will be relocated around the city to be considerate of the environment and to spread flowers and greenery throughout the town. We are seeking vibrant, uplifting works that enrich people’s lives with flowers and greenery, bringing colour and vitality to the city.

Overview

[Application period] Friday, 19 June 2026 – Thursday, 10 September 2026, 17:00 JST

[How to apply] Submit the required information and design materials via the designated application form

[Number of exhibits] 5 works  

[Size] 9 m (w) × 6.3 m (d) (56.7 m²)

[Work requirements] 
1.    The work must be designed to be relocated (beautiful and sustainable throughout the four seasons) 
2.    The work must be set up as a response to a client’s request 
3.    The work should focus on its appearance during the FFS period (early April) and create a sense of happiness for viewers

[Production grant] Overseas: up to 7.5 million yen, Domestic: up to 6.5 million yen

[Awards] Medal awards will be presented based on the judging results (four levels: Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver, Bronze). In addition to the medals, the following awards will also be presented: Best in Show, Best Construction Award, and People’s Choice Award (based on popular votes by visitors).

[Benefits] Gold medal winners will be offered an opportunity to exhibit a garden in the city centre.

 

If needed, we can introduce a local construction company.
